Details don’t matter — people getting mad because of a perceived lack of ideological purity among fellow travelers is pretty regularly a problem, and almost always stupid.

/ February 7, 2013Very true. There are things in Obama’s administration I do not agree with, but i still consider myself a progressive. Being a progressive goes in line with being an individual. There are things individuals in a group can agree with, but every person has their own beliefs shaped by their experiences.

/ February 8, 2013That is very well said Emily. Sometimes it’s just so damn hard to hate the guy, then he turns around and makes it just as hard to like him. I always tell folks, you can’t elect someone to dismantle the empire from the top (I know I’m stealing that from someone but I have lost track of who). That hard work has to be done down here. If you want the imperial presidency ended, you either need a coup or you need to fix congress. I know which option I want.
