    “Because: Dude” what?

    • Oh lord, people being stupid. People being stupid ALL OVER THE PLACE.

I’m just not following, but I have a feeling this is more of an “inside” conversation.

        • Well, part of why I didn’t provide details is because it’s also basically just a truism. It is possible to hold two things in mind at one time. Details don’t matter — people getting mad because of a perceived lack of ideological purity among fellow travelers is pretty regularly a problem, and almost always stupid.

  2. I have thoughts on this but they’re way better expressed over a cup of coffee than in a comment box because I don’t want to spew PerpetualDroneRage all over your corner of the world (that’s what mine’s for!).

That being said, hope you’re doing well! I still read over here, I just don’t say much!

    • Hey you! Come to Chicago, and we’ll spew RageOfWhateverDefinition together over actual coffee!

I know, I could travel to you. It’s just that I’m insisting the world come to me, you see. ; )

  3. I hate belonging to any group that requires one to drink the Koolaid. Purists just don’t make matters any better.

Very true. There are things in Obama’s administration I do not agree with, but i still consider myself a progressive. Being a progressive goes in line with being an individual. There are things individuals in a group can agree with, but every person has their own beliefs shaped by their experiences.

That is very well said Emily. Sometimes it’s just so damn hard to hate the guy, then he turns around and makes it just as hard to like him. I always tell folks, you can’t elect someone to dismantle the empire from the top (I know I’m stealing that from someone but I have lost track of who). That hard work has to be done down here. If you want the imperial presidency ended, you either need a coup or you need to fix congress. I know which option I want.
