…and you can’t make me not.
(Also, is it just me, or does the oldest Hanson brother look more than a little like a Baldwin?)

/ January 30, 2013I have been hounded for over a decade about my fondness for this song. This acoustic version is covered with Awesome Sauce!

/ January 30, 2013My sister is (still) a huge Hanson fan, and a few years ago she came to visit me because they were playing in our town. I went along because … well, why not?
I don’t admit this very often publicly, but I actually totally enjoyed the show. They played this version of this song and I thought it was actually pretty great … and their other music isn’t bad either. If they weren’t, you know, HANSON … I think more people would like them.
(Don’t tell anyone I said that

/ January 30, 2013SAY IT LOUD AND SAY IT PROUD, SISTER!
They’re really talented musicians, have lovely voices, clearly have a lot of fun with what they do, and given how old they were when they wrote that song, they’re also pretty good song writers. I think that if they hadn’t had the misfortune of coming up *just* as the boy band thing was in full swing again, they would have been taken more seriously. Alas, timing really is everything.

/ January 30, 2013There was a time when I might have lost my job if it weren’t for Hanson. I could get out of bed and turn on the TV, but that was the limit of my energy in the morning. But MMMBop was playing a lot on VH1 and it got my blood flowing a bit.

/ February 5, 2013The real question is what ever happened to them? Will they play some rural concert venue 40 years from now, looks faded, double chins and bellies, and still be living off of MMM Bop encores?

/ February 5, 2013Oh and yes, the older one bears some resemblance to the Christian crazy brother.
